Estonian Fabric User Group

Partners

Meetups are free because partners cover the room and the food. In return a host gets five minutes to introduce themselves and a logo on the event page. Every logo is the same size: there are no sponsor packages and no tiers.

How partnership works

  • A venue host provides a room, a projector and food for one evening. The event page says “Hosted by” and shows the logo.
  • A supporter helps in another way: recording, photos, translation, a lab room.
  • A community partner is another community we swap speakers and invitations with.
  • The organising partner operates the website and helps run the meetups. Today that is SparkleSolutions OÜ, and the same rules apply to it as to every other partner.

What partners may not do

We follow the rules of Microsoft's user group program and have put them in our own words here:

  • No sales talks at a meetup. A host's introduction is at most five minutes and one slide.
  • The attendee list is never shared with any partner or host. The organising partner, Sparkle Solutions, handles registrations only to run the event.
  • Speakers are chosen on content, not employer, and come from different companies: no company, the host included, dominates a community meetup. A partner's own events are marked as such on the event page.
  • The community's channels (newsletter, website) carry no partner advertising and no price lists.
  • The code of conduct applies to partners too.
