About
Estonian Fabric User Group is the volunteer community of Microsoft Fabric users in Estonia. We are listed among the user groups of Microsoft's Fabric Community, but we are not part of Microsoft: the community is run by a core committee alongside their day jobs.
What we do
- Evening meetups, usually hosted by a different company: doors, food, two talks, networking. The aim is at least six a year.
- Recordings and recaps, when the speakers agree, so the content reaches the people who could not come.
Every meetup is free. Hosts cover the room and the food; there are no sponsor packages.
How the community is run
The core committee decides the topics, speakers and hosts. Its members are named on the community page. We follow the requirements of Microsoft's user group program: at least six meetups a year, a public code of conduct, a variety of speakers, and no sales work in the community's name.
Sparkle Solutions' role
SparkleSolutions OÜ is the community's organising partner. Sparkle operates this website, helps run the meetups and is represented on the committee. As organiser it also handles registrations (usually on Fienta) and the newsletter list (Smaily), and uses them only for the community's events and newsletter, never for its own sales or marketing. On the partners page Sparkle's logo is the same size as every other partner's, and the same rules apply to it: no company dominates the speakers at a community meetup, no use of attendee data for sales, and no advertising in the community's channels.
Photos and recordings
Meetups, and the other events listed on this website, are photographed and talks are recorded. The photos, and with the speakers' consent the recordings, are published on this website and in the community's channels. If you do not want to be in a photo, tell the organiser on the spot. To have a published photo removed, write to info@fabricusergroup.ee and we will remove it.
Common questions
What is the Estonian Fabric User Group?
The volunteer community, or user group, of Microsoft Fabric users in Estonia. Microsoft Fabric is Microsoft's data and analytics platform, and Power BI is part of it.
Is it free?
Yes, every meetup is free: hosts cover the room and the food. If an event is part of another organiser's paid programme, its page says so.
How often do you meet?
The aim is at least six meetups a year, usually in the evening from 18:00 to 21:00. The next one is always on the events page.
Where?
In Tallinn, usually at a different company each time. So far we have met at Arrow ECS Baltic, Proekspert, BCS Koolitus and Palo Alto Club, among others. The address is on each event page.
What language are the talks in?
Estonian or English. Each event page says which.
Do you cover Power BI too?
Yes. Power BI is part of Microsoft Fabric, and many talks are about reporting, semantic models and Power BI tools.
How can I give a talk?
Write to info@fabricusergroup.ee with one sentence about your topic. First-time speakers get a 15-minute slot (how speaking works).
How do I host a meetup?
A host provides a room and food for one evening and, in return, gets five minutes to introduce itself, plus its logo on the event page (how partnership works).
Are you part of Microsoft?
No. We are listed in Microsoft's Fabric Community user group programme and follow its rules, but we are an independent community and never speak for Microsoft. SparkleSolutions OÜ operates this website as the organising partner.
